Puumala virus is a Hantavirus that is caused from wild rats, mice, and pets (hamsters, guinea pigs) around Europe and asia. and causes clinical illness in humans. during the past few decades the number of recorded cases of Puumala have been increassing which have been cousing trouble for healthcare systems. Hantavirus infecton cause 2 well-defined clinical syndromes: hemorrhagic fever with renal syndrome, that is mostly found, and cardiopulmonary syndrome. Hemorrhagic fever with renal syndrome is charcterized by renal failure, thrombocytopenia, and a mortality rates of 0.1-0.4%. hantavirus cardiopulmonary syndrome is characterized by severe involvement of the respiratory and circulatory systems and case-fatality rates >30%.
